I bought a 1988 Subaru Sambar Super Deluxe 4wd to bop around town, haul stuff, drive to work, etc. Being from 1988, it needed some things. And being a JDM vehicle, I had to get a little creative at times.

The Truer Skewer is my most recent product for bicycle wheelbuilders. I designed and machine these right here in my garage-shop. Enjoy this demonstration and hang out with me while we make a batch of Truer Skewers.

The Russell Makes Hot Spot™ is the final word in fire pit grillery. Effortlessly adjust the grill position over the fire for heat control variability second to none, even when the grill is already hot.
Made in Michigan from steel and freedom, the Hot Spot is built to last.

I recently picked up some titanium sheet to play with and had some titanium bar stock on hand. Figured a hip flask would be a fun use of those materials and a perfect gift for a friend.

The devil's in the details...and also lots of satisfaction.
The original knob on the axis jog wheel of my CNC mill was in a sorry state so it was time to make a new and improved version.

Life is about the journey, not the destination. For me, using projects to learn things is the whole reason why I do it in the first place. Join me on this journey through the process of what it took to make my CNC machined Coasters become a reality.

It's easy to make excuses about not being prepared enough to start a project. Not having the right tools is a common one for me. Sometimes I have to remind myself that once upon a time all I had was a bench, vise, hack saw, drill, and some hammers and I still managed to make stuff. In this video I dial it back and just get to making myself a new pocket knife even though I don't have all those fancy knife making tools.

Christmas is a great time to make something spectacular for someone special. This year I made a kitchen pot rack for my fiancé.

This is the last video in the 2020 Skim Bike Build series. The previous videos in the series feature the design and build of my 2020 skim bike.

The Skim Bike Comp is an annual competition in which the objective is to build a bike made to skim on the surface of water. Pedal as fast as possible toward a boat launch and whoever gets farthest wins. No propulsion allowed once in the water. No floating allowed once stopped.
