The Auto-Jog 9000

The AutoJog 9000 is a custom mechanism accompanied with PLC program modification. It automates the table jog sequence on a bicycle rim cutting machine which previously had to be jogged manually.

The AutoJog mechanism was designed to bolt to the machine with little modification, and to be operated by the machine’s original PLC. Considerations included: spare inputs/outputs on existing PLC, existing voltage and wiring scheme, physical space, operator experience and interaction, parts on hand, mechanism longevity, etc.
